It all started so simply.  Walking a way from a big money contract with the WWE, Cody Rhodes wrote a list;  Adam Cole, Dalton Castle, BOLA, Angle, Hero, “The Miracle” Moose, Pat Buck, the Streamers Thing, Young Bucks, Trevor Lee, Shibata, Personal Ring Announcer, and Roderick Strong.  Cody’s 2016 was highlighted by being the only wrestler to ever  appear at WrestleMania, ROH’s Final Battle, NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom, PWG’s BOLA, and Impact Wrestling’s Bound for Glory. No wrestler has ever accomplished that feat before.  Cody’s 2017 saw him become Ring of Honor World Champion while competing regularly for ROH and New Japan.  Why does Cody Rhodes need to become NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion.

A buzz was launched in early 2017 with news that the National Wrestling Alliance with its seventy years of history was now in the hands of Billy Corgan.  On October the 1st 2017, Billy famously announced that the NWA was open for business.  Since then the NWA has benefited from 45,000  YouTube users who subscribe to the Ten Pounds of Gold series.  The behind the look scenes of the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship.  Nick Aldis has showcased the most historic title in all of wrestling with tours of the United Kingdom, all over the United States, a tour in Australia and was the first NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion to defend in China.  This combined with his appearances on Championship Wrestling from Hollywood and his appearances in Ring of Honor (directly connected to All In) has made him the most visible champion in years.  Nick Aldis brought the title back to not just relevance, but prominence.  Clearly this isn’t news to Cody.  Cody is a very business savvy.  He’s seen the value rise with the NWA, in such a short time.

Make no mistake, Cody Rhodes is a star.  A former Ring of Honor World Champion who shines in New Japan and ROH.  He’s a part of the Being The Elite YouTube Series which has over 150,000 subscribers and routinely gets over 200,000 views.  His eyes have been set on regaining ROH World Championship.  He’s made overtures to the IWGP World Championship.  But there is something special about that Worlds Heavyweight Championship. But the legacy and history of the Legendary 10lbs of Gold calls to Cody like a sweet siren.  No father and son duo have held the NWA World Title.  September 1st, Cody is All In for history, legacy, and tradition.
