Xcite Wrestling 6, February 2nd

Friday March 2nd Slyck Wagner Brown challenges the National Wrestling Alliance Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis for the Legendary 10lbs of Gold. For Aldis, this match speaks to the sheer volume of matches he has accepted since becoming champion and starting off the Aldis Crusade.
For Brown, this should mean something different. As a name synonymous with the NWA in the North East, Slyck Wagner Brown was mostly ignored by NWA matchmakers. Despite SWB’s success in promotions like NWA New England (where he had been their TV Champion and one half of their Tag Team Champions in early 2000) and NWA Cyberspace where he was the Heavyweight Champion for nearly a year, Slyck Wagner Brown didn’t get very many opportunities to face the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion. April 30th 2005, the date of the first and last time Brown was in a ring facing the NWA Worlds Champion. The Underground King was defeated by WWE HOF Honoree Jeff Jarrett. The former student of Killer Kowalski has still remained relevant in the New England, New York, and New Jersey area. He’s gone on to hold the NECW Heavyweight Championship three times. Some thirteen years later, one more chance for the Jamaican Born challenger. One more chance at reaching for the brass ring.
