Woman’s Championship Vacated

The National Wrestling Alliance announced this morning that reigning NWA Woman’s World Champion would be vacating the title ahead of her defense on Saturday, April 27th as part of the Crockett Cup 2019. Jazz was originally scheduled to face Allysin Kay (many will remember her Impact Wrestling run as Sienna, a two-time “Knocks Outs” Champion.
A new champion will be crowned on Saturday. Kay will compete in a match with an opponent to be determined to crown a new champion. The challenger will be named sometime this week.
Jazz had recently celebrated the milestone of being Woman’s Champion for over 900 days. She recently was victorious against Alexia Nicole in Toronto, Ontario Canada as part of the “Unholly” event put on by GPW. Jazz retained her title two falls to one. This was Jazz’s second time defended in Canada and defeating Nicole.
Not without controversy, Jazz’s 948 days as champion came with a hiatus for all of 2017 and most of 2018. Her championship was reactivated on October, 21st 2018 when she defeated Penelope Ford. She would go on to defeat the likes of Jordynne Grace, Joseline Navarro, Maria Manic, and Heather Monroe. At the NWA Pop Up Event in Clarksville, Tennessee, growing frustrated with her opponent Allie, Jazz assaulted the referee resulting her in her disqualification. Her only loss since the title had been reactivated. Jazz is currently still the Heavy On Wrestling Women’s Champion.
