UNITED WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH | LIMELIGHT VS BOOGIE
Danny Limelight defends the United Wrestling Network World Championship Tuesday, February 25th in Irvine California at the Irvine Improv against his long-time friend and partner Slice Boogie as the Bodega closes for good.
Slice Boogie was recruited to join the Bodega shortly after Danny Limelight and Papo Esco became the United World Tag Team Champions in 2021. Boogie had been working in the United Wrestling Network and the National Wrestling Alliance before joining the group. Adding the tenacity and power of Boogie helped to strengthen the numbers of the Bodega. Invoking the “Freebird Rule” Boogie would often sub in for Papo to defend the World Tag Titles. Limelight and Boogie would defend the United World Tag Titles. in California and Georgia. The act was appealing enough to MLW that they would bring in the pair who would win the MLW World Tag Team Championships beating Calvin Tankman and EJ Nduka. At one point Danny and Slice were the tag team champions for both MLW and UWN. And even after losing the United Tag Titles, Limelight and Boogie would capture the IWA Puerto Rico Tag Titles.
Boogie earned the opportunity to challenge for the United Championship when he defeated Jordan Clearwater and Zicky Dice in a Golden Opportunity Threeway match. Due to scheduling conflicts and limited Television taping events, the match has been on hold for nearly a year. To his credit, Danny Limelight has spent the past year defending his title in Kentucky, Alaska, and Puerto Rico.
