Tim Storm is coming to CZW and he’s bringing the NWA Worlds Championship with him!

“Can’t wait to put Tim Storm out of his old misery, gonna spike him on his head with an apron Death Valley Driver sending him into cardiac arrest and pin his tanned corpse for the NWA world heavyweight championship,” Joey Janela. Matt Tremont also made his pitch, “[I was] Combat Zone World Champion for 399 days. Current [Game Changer Wrestling] World Champion since February ’17. I want a shot Tim Storm for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship. Let’s tell a violent old school story…”
It didn’t take long for the wrestling community to take notice of the Worlds Heavyweight Champion Tim Storm thanks to the mini-documentary series “Ten Pounds of Gold” but as soon as the front office announced that the NWA was open for business, challenges began pouring in. Not unlike Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hardcore, the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion has been invited to visit CZW. The last time a NWA World Heavyweight Champion was in CZW you’d have to go back to 2003.
Since new ownership took over the National Wrestling Alliance, Tim Storm has gone from a guy who quietly defended the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship in small venues in the Mid South area and even defending the title in Japan, to being seen almost weekly on Championship Wrestling form Hollywood and flying around the country. After successfully defending the NWA Worlds Championship against Nick Aldis at CWFH, Jocephus and Tried N True Pro Wrestling, Storm was introduced to the House of Hardcore fans in Philadelphia.
After suffering an attack from Jocephus this past Sunday in Hollywood, Storm made sure that he would be at CZW this weekend. CZW’s Cage of Death takes place at the Raselli’s Complex in Sewell, New Jersey. It would appear that at the very least Tremont or Janela plan to make their intentions know to the NWA Worlds Champion. The CZW World Title will be on the line when Rickey Shane defends against Shane Strickland and Joey Gacy. Also Zach Wentx and Dezmond Xavier defend the CZW Tag Titles against the Rep, oVe, and Matt Palmer and Alex Reynolds. Plus Jimmy Havoc challenges Jimmy Jacobs, Janlea defends his Wired Championship against MJF, and so much more.
If Storm does end up defending the championship in a CZW ring, he’ll be only the second ever NWA World Champion to do so. AJ Styles defeated Jimmy Rave CZW Deja Vu II on July 20th 2003 at the ECW Arena.
