Matt Conards journey to the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship leads him to a showdown against reigning champion Kevin Douglas this Friday Night. And it is only fitting that it will be Friday the 13th when “Modern Day Hero” will have to defend his title against a man who is called the “Reaper.” The culmination of hard work, dedication, and a bit of stalking has brought the Conard to this match, but his efforts started much earlier. Challenges to the previous champion would go unanswered. When the title was forfeited, Conard was one of the first to ask for his opportunity to join the tournament. Snubbed by the NWA Championship Committee, “The Reaper” made sure to make his presence known at the Revival Tournament on October 7th 2011. It was at the tournament in Charlotte, North Carolina that Conard and Douglas had their first interaction. Friday Night, Conard has his first opportunity to become a world champion.
