RIP Angelo Savoldi

Long time wrestling promoter and former NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion Angelo Savoldi has passed away.  We send our thoughts and prayers to the entire Savoldi Family and there extended Wrestling On Fire family.

Fred Rubenstein recently wrote about Angelo’s passing…

It is with extreme sadness that I tell you ofimage
the passing of the greatest and longest
reigning NWA lightweight champion, Angelo
Savoldi. Angelo died yesterday, September
20. He was just shy of his 100th birthday. I
loved Angelo. I first met him at the old
Madison Square Garden in New York City in
1960 when I was writing for Ring Magazine.
This past December, I had the honor to
present Angelo with a lifetime achievement
award at a show held in his hometown of
Parsippany, New Jersey. May Almighty God
grant Angelo Savoldi an eternity of peace
and rest in Heaven. Angelo Savoldi was, is
and always will be a champion. I will miss
him dearly. My condolences to his wonderful
family. It is with extreme sadness that I tell you of
