Ring of Honor Tag Champions to Crockett Cup 2022 | NWA News

Announced for the 2022 Crockett Cup are Jay and Mark Briscoe. The Briscoes are the current Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions. They made their NWA debut participating in the 2019 Crockett Cup. They are the only team announced, so far for the tag team tournament, that aren’t regulars for the NWA.
The Briscoes are the standard for modern-day tag team excellence. The brothers have held tag team championships around the world. They have held the ROH World Tag Championships 12 times. The pair started their last reign by defeating OGK. They have held tag team championships in Japan, the IWGP Tag Champions, and GHC Jr. Tag titles. They most recently lost the Game Changer Wrestling Tag Titles to Matt Tremont and Nick Gage.
The Briscoes in the NWA
In 2002, they competed for Bill Behren’s Wildside (the Georgia-based NWA promotion). They had a short run with the Wildside Tag Team Championships. In 2011, the Briscoes challenged the Dark City Fight Club for the NWA World Tag Titles.
They made their debut for Billy Corgan’s NWA at the Crockett Cup 2019. Their first-round opponents for the 2019 Crockett Cup were the Rock N Roll Express. In the second round, they faced Villain Enterprises. Dem Boys were disqualified when they used a chair. Their opponents PCO and Brody King would go on to win the tournament. Jay Briscoe called out Aldis after the tournament.
