NWA Mountain State hosted a bit of controversy the other night while during a television taping, it was believed Owens had won the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship. A disagreement between officials led to the match being thrown out and a re-match scheduled for this Friday the 13th.
However, Matt Conard was originally scheduled to face off against The Modern Day Hero and his World Title at NWA Mountain State Freedom Fest, which would have snubbed the Reaper for his much anticipated match.
Cooler heads prevailed and match makers from NWA Mountain State have decided to make the match a Triple Threat… and Douglas will now defend against Chase Owens and Matt Conard. Assuming Douglas can leave West Virginia with title in tow, he’ll be defending the title in New Jersey the next night.
