NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship Returns to the United Kingdom

Preston City Wrestling has come to terms with the National Wrestling Alliance to host the Worlds Heavyweight Championship in Lancanshire on December 29th at the Preston Guild Hall. This will mark the first time that the title will be defended in PCW. The opponent for Nick Aldis and the Ten Pounds of Gold has yet to be determined.
The National Treasure regained the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship by defeating Cody at the NWA 70th Anniversary Show in Nashville at the Tennessee Fairgrounds. With promises of a second round for the Aldis Crusade (including this announcement), the Worlds Champion has five title matches booked before the end of the year. The first match of the crusade kicks off tonight in Maryland, against Brandon Scott. Aldis has also agreed to face Jack Hager (Swagger) Shawn Blanchard, and Billy Gunn and wrestle a match with House of Hardcore before heading to England.
The NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship was a bit of a hidden secret after the NWA split from Total Non-Stop Action. During that time only Adam Pearce and Blue Demon Jr. had ventured across the pond to defend the title. However, that changed once Aldis won the title. The United Kingdom had been kind to the Worlds Heavyweight Champion during his first reign. Aldis is the first British born wrestler to defend the title in his home country. The Champion defended all over England and a defense in Northern Ireland. Having defended the championship a total of seven times in the course of nine days against the likes of David Starr, Harlem Bravado, Joseph Conners, and Bram.
PCW Academy will also be hosting a seminar that day with WWE NXT Coach David Taylor
Every Thursday night at Midnight, PCW airs on the Fight Network UK on Sky Channel 455.
