NWA World Title to be defended at NJPW Destruction

NJPW Destruction

As of writing this the NWA World Heavyweight Champion is on a Jet Plane headed to Kobe, Japan.  Making his claim of being a World Warrior, this is The Ironman’s third trip to New Japan Pro Wrestling to defend the Legendary 10lbs of Leather and Gold.  Rob Conway has been on quite the ride since defeating former champion Kahagas in March at a Branded Outlaw Wrestling event in San Antonio. In six months time, Conway has victories over NWA Hall of Famer, Ricky Morton, Former NWA World Champion Rhino, New Japan’s Satoshi Kojima, Manabu Nakanishi, former NWA Tag Team Champion Chase Stevens, former NWA National Champion Damien Wayne, and former WWE Intercontinental Champion Chris Masters.

One thing Conway hasn’t faced just yet is someone who is quick as Jushin “Thunder” Liger.  The International Junior Heavyweight Legend has traveled across the globe winning championships all the way.  Liger’s style of high flying and risk taking wrestling has made him an icon in the business and if Conway takes the Junior Heavyweight lightly, could leave Japan 10lbs lighter.  The entire New Japan Pay Per View will be available for purchase at http://www.ustream.tv/njpw.
