NWA Smoky Mountain Collision Course 9 Results

Last Night in Kingsport, TN, Chase Owens shocked the pro wrestling world on the live audience by turning his back on his mentor, Ricky Morton and joining the Illuminati!
Morton was competing in the main event of the evening against NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, Rob Conway. The match was billed as Morton’s last ever shot at the legendary “10 pounds of Gold”.
As this epic battle drew to a close, NWA Smoky Mountain Senior Referee, Smoke Carver accidentally collided with Conway. With the official laid out and the champion knocked outside of ring, Illuminati members Tony Givens and Chris Richards made their way to the ring to attack Morton. NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion, Chase Owens ran from the locker room and slide into the ring to seemingly even the odds, only to betray Morton by hitting him with a devastating “Roaring Elbow”!
Owens then went to the floor and threw Conway back into the ring, while Givens and Richards revived the referee. Conway, unaware of what had happened, covered Morton for the pin fall victory, retaining his title.
Afterwards, Richards assaulted Conway while Owens put the boots to his former mentor, Morton. Givens announced that Owens was the newest member of The Illuminati and that he would be sending Chris Richards after Conway’s NWA Worlds Heavyweight Title in the near future.

— In a pre-show match, Elliot Russell defeated Dwayne Windham.
— NWA Southern TV Champion, Jeff Connelly and Alyx Winters wrestled to a 10 Minute Time Limit Draw. Due to the draw, the champion, Connelly retained his title.
— The Illuminati (Tony Givens & Chris Richards) defeated The Avenger & Cody Ices
— NWA Tennessee Tag Team Champions, Air America (Gavin Daring & Skylar Kruze) defeated Zac Vincent & Matt Conard… After the match, Conard and Vincent jumped the champions and left them laying.
— NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion, Chase Owens defeated Fred Yehi in a Non-Title Match.
— Mountain Goat Jack and Nick Hammonds fought to a No Contest when both Daniel Mulligan and Josh Crawford interfered… NWA Smoky Mountain Executive Producer, Matt Rhodes made an immediate tag team match between the teams of Goat & Mulligan and Crawford & Hammonds.
— Nick Hammonds & Josh Crawford defeated Mountain Goat Jack & Daniel Mulligan.
— Eddie Golden defeated Jeff Tankersley via disqualification.
— NWA Smoky Mountain Champion, Jason Kincaid defeated Sigmon in a Smoky Mountain Street Fight.
— In the Main Event, NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, Rob Conway defeated Ricky Morton.
NWA Smoky Mountain will be back in action on Friday, June 14 at the VFW in Elizabethton with a TV taping.
