NWA Indiana’s Flash Flanagan challenges NWA World Champion Adam Pearce
Growing up in small town Indiana Flash Flanagan knew from an early age he wanted to be a professional wrestler. Flanagan had the desire, the ability and the fortitude to seek out his dreams and after a brief but valuable experience with “Quicksilver,” who would take his money and teach him nothing, Flash want to Ohio Valley Wrestling and Danny Davis.
Davis and others, including “Hustler” Rip Rogers, one of the most underrated workers in wrestling, taught Flash the mechanics of being in the ring. The natural athletic ability that Flash had made him an instant success and he rose quickly in the ranks of OVW winning the heavyweight title on four occasions and the tag team titles on five occasions. One of Flash’s best matches in OVW was against The Prototype who would go on to wrestle as John Cena in the WWE.
Flash had some matches in the WWE, the highest profile one being a RAW match against Brian Christopher in the Light Heavyweight tournament. The WWE wanted Flash but only under their conditions, ones that Flash was vastly against and he held to his beliefs and principles. Flanagan would go to Puerto Rico and work as Slash Venom for a period of time winning the IWA Hardcore title numerous times as well as the tag team titles on several occasions.
Returning to the states Flash was highly sought after by many indie promotions with promoters thinking Flanagan would be a solid addition to their roster. Flash would work for Pennsylvania Championship Wrestling, Ring of Honor, the USWA before they closed down and Smoky Mountain Wrestling among others.
On November 26 Flash Flanagan has an opportunity to become the NWA World Champion, a title that is still coveted as one of the most honored and most historical titles in wrestling. Current champion Adam Pearce has stated that Flanagan will look him in the eye and give thanks for the beating Flash is about to receive. Flash, never at a loss for words has simply stated that Pearce should not look past this match and that he will Thank Pearce for Giving the title to Flash Flanagan.
November 26 in Lafayette, Indiana at the Lafayette Theater as part of the big NWA Indiana Thanksgiving Spectacular Flash Flanagan will battle NWA Champion Adam Pearce in what will be the biggest match of Flanagan’s career. Shawn Cook, Guy Lombardo, Marc Houston and a special guest appearance by “Boogie Woogie Man” Handsome Jimmy Valiant makes this a must see show. Will Flash Flanagan become the new NWA champion or will Adam Pearce walk out of the ring thankful for more than just turkey leftovers?
