National Wrestling Alliance Returns To Chattanooga

While the NWA is built on a foundation of wrestling history, the event on Nov. 26 is looking towards the future. This card will featuring some of the up and coming wrestlers on the circuit today. The main event features a battle of the biggest and baddest as the 6’8″ 328 pounds “Priest Of Punishment” Mikael Judas takes on the 360 pounds juggernaut of man known simply as Tank. Both men were ranked nationally in this year’s Pro Wrestling Illustrated Magazine Top 500 wrestlers in the world.
Judas, originally a South Carolina native, has made a name for himself traveling the states and in Puerto Rico, where he captured the IWA World Heavyweight Championship in 2006 and is also a former NWA Georgia State Heavyweight Champion. Tank, who’s originally a Chattanooga native, was a high school (Red Bank High) and collegiate (Wartburg) wrestling standout and has headlined pro cards in over 20 U.S. states as well as Mexico and is known as one of the single toughest wrestlers in the sport today.
Another featured bout on the card will see two former NWA World TV Champions collide as “All That” Adam Jacobs takes on “The Temptation” Shaun Tempers. Jacobs has been competing on NWA cards since the year 2000 where he has also held the Georgia and Alabama state tag team titles and the Georgia state heavyweight title, and has also appeared in the Ring Of Honor promotion out of Philadelphia, TNA Wrestling, briefly on WCW, and was a mainstay in the cult favorite NWA Wildside promotion where he actually scored a pinfall victory over prominent wrestling star A.J. Styles. Tempers is a thoroughbred athlete, the son of former Chattanooga Lookout great and now Philadelphia Phillies assistant coach Sal Rende. He has also competed on cards across the country and was also ranked in this years PWI Magazine Top 500 Wrestlers.
In addition to these two bouts, NWA Championship Wrestling will be presenting a veritable who’s who of the nation’s up and coming wrestling stars. People like “The Seven Figure Deal” Ace Rockwell, “The Perfect 10” Chrisjen Hayme, Andrew Alexander, Corey Hollis, The Hate Junkies and more.
The event will also include the announcement of the “The Scenic City Hall Of Fame.” The first inductees will be the most feared tag team in Chattanooga wrestling history – “The No Pain Train,” Gypsy Joe and the late, great Tojo Yamamoto. Gypsy Joe will be in attendance to accept the award, sign autograph and thank all the fans for their decades of support.
There will be more events in Soddy Daisy on Dec. 10, March 18 and April 1 with more dates currently in negotiations.
