Matt Cardona Injured | NWA NEWS

According to Matt Cardona himself via twitter “Got a MRI today. Bicep is torn. Surgery needed. Will unfortunately need to cancel some dates.” This doesn’t sound good for the NWA PPV “Alwayz Ready” scheduled for June11th 2022.

NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Matt Cardona was expected to face “The National Treasure” Nick Aldis on June 11th. In a deathmatch, the two would battle for the Worlds Heavyweight Championship on the Pay Per View that was themed after the “King of Death Matches”

Cardona famously won the championship at an NWA Live Event “POWERRR TRIP” by defeating Trevor Murdoch. Cardona has had three successful title defenses since becoming championship, but hadn’t defended the title since April 9th.

Cardona was injured wrestling for Game Changer Wrestling, when Blake Christian dove onto Cardona and the Worlds Heavyweight Champion was injured. Cardona is still currently the ASW Heavyweight Champion, both the AIW Absolute and Intense Champion, as well as holding the Ten Pounds of Gold. Up until recently, Cardona was the Impact Digital Media Champion, and NYWC Heavyweight Champion.

The match between Aldis and Cardona hasn’t officially been called off, however it is unsure if Cardona will be able to compete.
