NEWS FLASH – For Immediate Release

Lance Cade replaces Kevin Northcutt
on May 1st NWA Show in Whitesboro

DALLAS – Lance Cade, 3-time World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Tag Team Champion with Trevor Murdoch, will replace a still injured Kevin Northcutt in the Triple Threat match on NWA Southwest’s (NWA-SW) red River Stampede Road Show card May 1, in Whitesboro, Texas.

Cade, who was just released by WWE this month and mentored by Shawn Michaels, will now face Amarillo’s Chad Thomas and Tulsa’s Dane Griffin in the Main Event at Whitesboro High School gymnasium. The show is a fundraiser event benefiting the annual scholarship program of the Whitesboro Rotary Club.

NWA Commissioner Ken Taylor said Northcutt is still not recovered from rehabbing an injury suffered in January and was unable to keep the booking. The 9-time Texas champion gave no timetable when he may be able to return to the ring.

“Lance says he plans to do tours in Japan the rest of the year, and will wrestle on NWA Southwest Road Shows not in conflict with being overseas,” said Taylor. “We signed him right before his Japan departure. He now adds even more stature to an already star-stacked card representing the finest wrestling in Texas.”

Cade said he’s very happy to be back in Texas. “I’ve set my sights on two things: becoming huge in Japan, and winning NWA Gold from Texas Heavyweight right up to World Heavyweight Champion,” he added.

Tickets are only $10 on a first come, first serve basis so be early when the doors open at 6 p.m. Bell-time is 7 p.m. Advance tickets are now on sale at Dennard’s Western Wear in both Sherman and Whitesboro, and Butterfield Stage in Whitesboro. Six hundred fans attended last year and 700+ is expected this time.
