Reports coming out of PWInsider are linking the former “One Time” NWA World Women’s Champion Kamille with World Wrestling Entertainment’s NXT Brand. Once thought of as a developmental brand under the direction of Shawn Michaels and Triple H, NXT has once again emerged as a third wrestling brand for the WWE. The Durham, North Carolina native spent the better part of five years working for the National Wrestling Alliance, introduced as the Insurance Policy to then champion Nick Aldis. After a year and a half of watching the back of Aldis, Kamille stepped into the ring for the NWA just ahead of the global pandemic. After making her debut she would become the most dominant female in the NWA and would capture the Burke from Serena Deeb after wrestling her eighth match for the company. 812 days later with over 40 title defenses and quite regularly stealing the show, Kamille would be the most dominant NWA World Woman’s Champion in the modern era.
Kamille defended the Burke against a host of challengers. AEW’s Leyla Hirsch, Chelsea Green, Kiera Hogan, KiLynn King, OVW’s Shalonce Royal, WWE Legend Melina, AEW’s Taya Valkyrie, AAA’s Lady Flammer, Los Rosa Negra, Saraya Knight, Natalia Markoiva and more. Kamille was the first champion to defend the title in Mexico City. She defended the title in Canada and the United Kingdom as well. It should be noted that Kamille’s work with current Champion, Kenzie Paige helped to bring her along in the NWA as well.
