Jordan Clearwater NEW United World Champion | UWN News

On a night that seemed like Chris Dickinson couldn’t be defeated, he was. But not to his scheduled opponent. Dickinson defeated Willie Mack. However, he was not counting on the winner of the Red Carpet Rumble, Jordan Clearwater cashing in.

The audience was very much behind Willie Mack, a former Television Champion and Heritage Champion. The match was said to have been very competitive, but Dickinson earned just his second victory as World Champion. He had previously defeated Davey Richards at the last set of television taping.

That just meant the door was open and with a Midas Touch, Clearwater kicked that door down. Jordan Clearwater took advantage of the opportunity presented by the rules of the Red Carpet Rumble. Clearwater won his first United Championship by defeating Ray Rosas to win the Heritage Championship. His reign was brief. He had successfully defended that title against future champion Jordan Cruz on Prime Time Live and against Will Allday on an episode of Championship Wrestling. He would later lose the title to Richie Slade. Much like the former champion, Clearwater carries ties to promotions outside of UWN in NJPW Strong and the National Wrestling Alliance.

United World Heavyweight Champion

Conceptualized shortly after Championship Wrestling from Hollywood split from the National Wrestling Alliance, the UWN World Championship was to become the marquee championship for the affiliates that left the NWA along with David Marquez. The championship was designed by Marquez and Rob Schamberger and brought to life by Belts By Dan. The tournament was announced on Prime Time LIVE, but didn’t conclude until nearly a year later when Chris Dickinson won the tournament, defeating Mike Bennett in the finals.
