Jay Cal’s View: What Could Have Been – Eight Years Ago…

Eight years ago “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce defeated former NWA Jr. Heavyweight Champion Jimmy Rave, then National Champion Chance Prophet, and then North American Champion Shaun Tempers in a four-way match to fill the vacant NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship in Columbus Ohio at the Ohio State Fair.

Despite the animosity the duo had for each other, a match between Adam Pearce and the Sheik could have legitimately launched the authentic era some eight years before David Lagana coined the phrase.  So why didn’t the match happen?  In this episode of Jay Cal’s View I take a look back at the events that led up to the change in the originally billed match.  And what it means to the NWA because of it.
