James Storm’s Contract Expires
Former Impact World Champion and multi-time NWA Tag Team Champion apparently has become a free agent with reports of the NWA allowing his contract to lapse. Storm is still 1/2 of the NWA World Tag Team Champions with Eli Drake.

It has been reported by sources that the multi-time NWA Champion is now a free agent when the NWA failed to renew his contract. Prior to joining the NWA, James Storm was famously apart of America’s Most Wanted a multi-time NWA and Impact World Tag Team Champions. Storm would later team with Bobby Roode as Beer Money – one of the hottest tag teams in all of wrestling before the duo split. Storm would go on to hold the Impact World Championship before leaving the company. Storm would find some success in the NWA prior to the World-wide pandemic.
March 16th 2020, the National Wrestling Alliance announced it would be taking a hiatus from promoting live wrestling events including the postponement of the Crockett Cup 2020. The NWA would later announce a on June 18th that it would restructure management position within the front office and halt all production. For the next two months the NWA for all intents and purposes, was shut down.
Prior to the NWA shutting down; Tasha Steelz elected to sign with Impact Wrestling, Ricky Starks opted out of his deal and signed with AEW. CW Anderson would retired. There was rumors that Zicky Dice asked for his release.
Reports from around the web are indicating that now James Storm is now a free agent. A multi-time NWA World Tag Team Champion, a former NWA National Champion, was re-introduced to the NWA on January 5th 2019 when he challenged Nick Aldis for the Ten Pounds of Gold as part of the NWA Pop Up in Clarksville Tennessee.
Storm would return to the NWA to challenge Colt Cabana after the 2019 Crockett Cup for a NWA National Championship Match. As champion Storm had a title defense at VPW Infection and Championship Wrestling from Hollywood in August 2019 ahead of the first episode of NWA POWERRR. At the conclusion of Episode 5, Storm would lose his title to Cabana. He wound up being #1 contender by defeating Eli Drake and Mr. Anderson on a dark match of NWA POWERRR and would eventually lose a 2/3 Falls Match to Nick Aldis at Into the Fire on December 14th 2019. The following Pay Per View, Storm partnering with Eli Drake would win the NWA World Tag Team Titles by defeating the Wild Cards (Thomas Latimer and Royce Isaacs) and the Rock N Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson) in a Three Way Match. The duo would have one title defense on POWERRR against the Bouncers from Ring of Honor.
It was expected that Storm and Drake would be part of the Crockett Cup 2020 however those plans never materialized. Although Storm is still a NWA World Tag Team, no mention of the tag titles has been made on United Wrestling Network’s Prime Time Live.
