Diamond Star Wrestling Partners with the NWA

The Iron Empire will defend the NWA World Tag Team Titles in Japan on September 25th for Diamond Stars Wrestling

As reported by SuperLuchas; Diamond Star Wrestling has entered into a partnership with the National Wrestling Alliance. The NWA has had a presence in Japan dating back to Rikidozan and the JWA. This partnership would bring the NWA to Japan for the first time since they parted ways with New Japan.

Diamond Stars Wrestling will hold its first event on September 25th 2016 at the Shinkiba 1st RING in Tokyo. The event will feature former IWGP Jr. and current British Super Slam Championship: Minoru Tanaka vs. Dean Allmark (c) and NWA World Tag Team Champions Iron Empire Rob Conway and Matt Rivera (c) vs. “Terryman” Rob Terry & Mystery Partner.

“DSW’s goal is to offer the Japanese public a wide selection of wrestling styles; promote joshi puroresu in a more versatile way, since currently, women’s professional wrestling in Japan is going through a serious crisis because there are only several small companies that have not been able to attract the public. Regarding the rest of the Japanese pro wrestling, the new leaders pointed out that it is not possible that NJPW alone is the only successful company and the others do not stand out as they deserve.”
