Former NWA World Champion heading to Disney
On January 28th, 2021 the Disney Channel ordered the full series Ultra Violet and Blue Demon. The show had been in development in February 2020. On the show, The former NWA World Champion moonlights as a Superhero. Demon’s 13-year-old niece Violet is “chosen” by a magical luchador mask to become the successor to her uncle. While training, Violet learns to balance the life of a middle school student and hero. She’s trained by Demon but ends up teaching him a few things. Demon is also the executive producer of the project. The show

In 2006, Southern California NWA Promoter, David Marquez started booking live arena events. The tour kicked off in Las Vegas, Nevada, as the Pro Wrestling Summit and would add more dates. They would run events in medium-sized arenas in Florida, Texas, Arizona, Indiana, Nevada, and Georgia. A great deal many of these shows focused on Lucha Libre. Demon would join the roster on March 25th, 2007 at the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee Florida. Demon would also appear on the NWA 60th Anniversary Show at the Philips Arena. He teamed with Sean Waltman against Rob Conway and PCO. In 2009, the National Wrestling Alliance opened up an office in Mexico, with Blue Demon Jr. named president.
Worlds Heavyweight Champion
Blue Demon Jr. became the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship on October 25th, 2008. He defeated “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce in El Centro Banamex, in Mexico City, Mexico. Not without controversy, Pearce maintained the referee should have broken the hold. This would mark the first time that the Ten Pounds of Gold would change hands in Mexico. Demon would become the star of the NWA’s Pro Wrestling Showcase. As well as being the star of the program produced in Hollywood, Demon would defend the title globally.
One of many special moments for Demon as Worlds Heavyweight Champion was teaming with Ultimo Dragon in Japan. This would mark the first time the Ten Pounds of Gold would be seen in a wrestling ring in Japan, since Dan Severn winning the championship from Hashimoto nine years earlier in ZERO1. What’s especially unique about that moment, was that the duo had teamed together nearly 16 years earlier for WAR, a “lucharesu” promotion in Japan.
It still stands today, that Blue Demon Jr. was the last NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion to defend in Spain. Other international defenses include the United Kingdom. And as previously mentioned he showcased the title in Japan and Canada as well. He also was the last champion to defend in Mexico.
