Former NWA National Champion has passed away.
Alliance-Wrestling is sadden to hear the passing of former NWA National Heavyweight Champion Big Slam and send our deepest condolences to McDonald’s family and friends.

Former NWA National Champion Walt McDonald passed away. McDonald worked in the North East as part of NWA 2000 and NWA New Jersey around the late 90s early 2000. Under the name of Big Slam Vader (a tribute to Big Van Vader) and sometimes as just Big Slam was able to capture the NWA National Championship in 1997 when the title was reactivated. Slam would end up losing the title to former WWE Superstar Salvatore Sincere in North Carolina.
Big Slam worked his last match in Voorhees New Jersey as part of the TWA Reunion Show teaming with Kid America and The Blue Meanie. Long before he hung up the boots, McDonald would work with NWA New Jersey affiliated promotions like Force 1 Pro Wrestling and Coastal Pro Wrestling.
McDonald was only 54 years old. His last days were spent in hospice as the result of heart attack.
