Dominant Ladies Champion Acquires More Hardware
It was just a few weeks ago I made the case for Chase Owens having the best year in wrestling, but perhaps I spoke to soon. Chase has had much success this year, but has anyone had more success than Santana Garret?
TNT Keny G’s baby girl has spent the past few years building a reputation in wrestling blending beauty and brawn. For a brief time as Britany, she featured as part of TNA’s Knockouts Division. In her home state of Florida, the double tough Santana Garret, is currently the reigning and defending champion of no less than five wrestling promotions. The championships of CWE, NPW, Orlando Pro Wrestling, Ring Warriors, and SHINE all belong to Garret. She became the NWA Women’s Champion earlier this year when she defeated Barbi Hayden in Florida for Signature Pro Wrestling. It’s the NWA Woman’s Championship that she has brought to California working for AWS and later Stardom’s Southern California tour. It’s there that Garret was invited to join the World Wonder Ring Stardom on tour in Japan. Last night, just days after successfully defending the NWA World Championship in Japan against Holdead in Tokyo, Santana defeated Io Shirai in Fukuoka, Japan to become the Wonder of Stardom Champion.
