Disappointed, but the show still goes on.

“Ric Flair, part of the 2008 NWA Hall of Fame class, will unfortunately not be present to receive this honor on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Philips Arena in Atlanta, GA. World Wrestling Entertainment, which has a contractual relationship with Flair, will not permit Flair to attend the ceremony.”

As posted on the NWA Website. This has to be a disappointment for the fans, the wrestlers, and even the promoters. However, there isn’t a lot that can be done. The hands are tied of the NWA. And although I can understand the WWE wants to protect their investment in Flair, I can hardly see this as hurting anyone in World Wrestling Entertainment.

The show must go on and fans of the NWA will still be on hand to see such talent honored as Tommy Rich, Bobby Eaton and Dennis Condrey, Iron Sheik, and the Corsica Brothers. Also still scheduled are Rich vs. Abdullah The Butcher and the Midnight Express vs. th Rock -N- Roll Express. Not to mention some of the prominent names featured in the NWA, not to mention the man who claims to “Rule The World,” Sid.
