Champions Series 2022 Round-Up: Week Two
We are two weeks onto the NWA Champions Series 2022 and we’ve had another week of great action, with a couple of curious booking choices but nothing that has derailed the Series. This week’s editions of Powerrr and NWA USA saw Team Pretty face off with Team Rock and Roll, and Team Gold tussled with Team Rebelión. Another two teams have gone through to the next round, but of course, that means two teams have also been eliminated. Here are the standings in the Champions Series after week two:

Team Gold – 8 points
Team Rebelión has progressed to Round Two. Team Gold have been eliminated.
Observations and Questions
- What really happened with the Taya Valkyrie/La Rosa Negra match?
- Whatever the answer to the above, the comments on YouTube seem to indicate that fade-outs and text explanations might not be the way to go in future…
- With Taya ‘suspended’ by Tim Storm until 2023, will that mean they will have to recruit someone new as a replacement? And will that be a female or a male wrestler? I don’t recall any alternates for Team Rock and Roll being mentioned, so it will be interesting to see who steps up.
- Do the two winning teams of the week face each other in the second round or is there another draw to determine the matches?
- Chris Adonis eating a pizza at ringside made me laugh more than it should.
