Briscoes new Impact Tag Team Champions | Impact Wrestling

On Saturday Night May 7th, Jay and Mark Briscoe won their first Impact Tag Team Championship by defeating Violent By Design at Under Seige 2022. With very much certainty, the Briscoes are one of the most decorated tag team champions of this time. Having held the ROH Tag Team Championships 12 times. They have also held the IWGP tag team titles from New Japan Pro Wrestling. They were briefly the GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions in Pro Wrestling NOAH. They’ve held the CZW Tag Team Championship twice. They have also held the GCW tag team titles twice. Just a few weeks ago they were victorious at the Crockett Cup having on the Spring Tag Team Tournament.
What does this mean for the NWA?
The Briscoes seemingly were a part of the bigger picture for the NWA. The pair had recently challenged for the NWA World Tag Team Championships on NWA POWERRR. And before that, they won the Crockett Cup 2022. Since they started working with the brand again in 2019, they are seven and two. With their only losses were to the Villains Club in 2019 and La Rebelión in 2022.
With their victory and now subsequent responsibilities to Impact and the Impact Championship Titles, there is no certainty that the Briscoes will be available to work as often with the NWA. And with the World Tag Titles being defended against the Commonwealth Connection, there is no certainty that the Briscoes have a future in the NWA.
