Blue Collar News
Welcome to this edition of “Blue Collar News” where we will take an in depth look at NWA Blue Collar Wrestling out of Portland, Oregon. This past Sunday, July 24th they presented a card at Eagles North Portland FOE 3426 located at 7611 North Exeter Street in Portland, Oregon.
In the opening match, NWA Continental Heavyweight Champion, Badd Blood defeated Blue Collar Wrestling Heavyweight Champion, Kaine Jaiden by pinfall. Jaiden lost last week to NWA Pacific Northwest Heavyweight Champion, Buddy Highway last week. When asked about losing two high profile matches in two weeks the BCW Champion stated, “Both matches were a little rough on me mentally. To be honest, it’s changed the way I’m looking at things as far as me and keeping my championship.” When asked what will change the champ said, “Only time will tell.” When I spoke with Buddy Highway last week he had nothing but good things to say about Kaine Jaiden. I wondered did these two matches get under his skin? Jaiden stated, “Buddy gave me a battle in our match. He showed why he is an NWA champion by pinning me twice. Then, Badd Blood proceeded to do the same, as well. Needless to say, I’m not happy about taking the L’s twice in two weeks and I feel as though I need to redeem myself to prove that my championship can be on the same level as their’s.”
In the second match of the evening The Moonshiners went over on This Guy and Tech Tonik by pinfall. Tech Tonik is one of the best young wrestlers in the Pacific Northwest and I asked him about his background in wrestling. “My background in wrestling… MY BACKGROUND IN WRESTLING?! HAHAHA! I’ve been wrestling since I was 5. I was boxing at 8. And I’ve participated in just about every sport there is. Wrestling is second nature for me, and that’s exactly why I warn people they “Don’t Want These Hands”! When I get ahold of you, you can expect to go for an unpleasant ride.” Go like his new fan page on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/TeckNWA/
Next up was Lance Dean vs Tommy Celsius. This match ended in a disqualification win for Celcius. Dean said on Facebook, ” I’m still trying to erase the thought of that sleezy Tommy C kissing me square on my mouth after our match at BCW last night, but what’s really getting under my skin is Badd Blood playing the shot caller around here by putting me in a Fans Bring the Weapons to the arena match vs. “The Lost Sullivan” Buddy Highway? Yes, I made a statement by roughing him after his match, because he couldn’t stop parading around the ring after his win against Dave Havoc. Management needs to take note that I am a contender for every damn title at BCW. So, Buddy, put that NWA Pacific Northwest Heavyweight Championship on the line to make it fair since you politiced the match stipulations or do I have to ask Badd Blood for the title shot? #FansBringWeapons #NoDQ”
In tag team action, Mobb Inc. faced The Role Models and despite the fact that The Role Models are competing for the number one contender position in the rankings for the NWA Pacific Northwest Tag Team Titles, Mobb Inc. Came out on top.
The main event saw NWA Pacific Northwest Heavyweight Champion, Buddy Highway face off against Dave “Havoc” Hollenbeck. This one got out of control with Badd Blood and Lance Dean both interfering. That led to Highway and Blood teaming up and taking on Havok and Dean in an impromptu tag team match. Havok and Dean pulled off a huge win against the champs to end the night.
Tonight, Sunday, July 31st, BCW presents Final Encounter at Eagles North Portland FOE 3426 located at 7611 North Exeter Street in Portland, Oregon. We will see Havoc vs. Badd Blood. The winner owns the loser’s contract for 30 days. Lance Dean vs. Highway. The PNW Champ is looking for retribution after last week’s attack. The Role Models vs. The Moonshiners for the #1 contender spot in the Blue Collar Wrestling tag team rankings. Plus, there will be what’s being advertised as a “Wonderful” return.
And finally, BCW announced that former NWA World Heavyweight Champion, “The Tokyo Monster” Kahagas is coming to town on August 7th. Kahagas has been managed in the past by the leader of The Dungeon of Doom, Kevin Sullivan. What is he coming to Portland for?
