Big NWA Worlds Championship defense coming to Jacksonville Florida, April 23rd

Four years later, the NWA Worlds Championship returns to Florida with title firmly strapped around the waist of Colt “Boom-Boom” Cabana for Pro Wrestling Fusion. It was only March 6th where Cabana won the championship by defeating the former three time champion “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce at NWA Hollywood. Since winning the Championship, Cabana was quick to continue to accept all challengers across the globe, much like his predecessor. Cabana made back to back defenses in Alabama and Georgia defended the title three times in Canada for Capital City Championship Compat , CRW, and Inter Species Wrestling and was last seen defeating Joey Ryan for NWA Championship Wrestling from Hollywood.

Cabana’s challenger is the scourge of the NWA and widely considered the most hated man in the Alliance. Dating back nearly two years the Sheik has made it clear to anyone who would listen that he wanted a shot at the Worlds Championship. Sheiks first efforts were met with indifference from the NWA Board of Directors, even when the Sheik was able to win not only the NWA Florida Championship, but the NWA Midwest and NWA North American Championship, a feat that has yet to be repeated. The Sheik would ridicule then champion Blue Demon Jr., who had no idea of who the Sheik was and insisted on The Sheik’s people faxing a resume over. The Sheik’s focus changed from Blue Demon Jr. to Adam Pearce when Pearce regained the championship. After a series of attacks both verbal and physical, The Sheik was finally given a Number 1 Contenders Match against Reigning TNA Television Champion and former NWA National Champion Phil “Gunner” Shatter. After defeating Shatter, the Sheik was finally granted his shot.

Come This Saturday, April 23rd, from Jacksonville Florida, the Sheik finally gets his shot at the Worlds Heavyweight Title. Colt Cabana meets his toughest challenge yet as champion. Also scheduled to take place at Subtle Hustle will be The NWA World Tag Team Champions, the Dark City Fight Club defending their belts against Ring of Honor’s most unorthodox tag team in the Briscoe Brothers. This match up is sure to be extremely brutal. In contrast the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship will too be defended in Jacksonville as Lince Dorado will get his shot at Craig Classic, and more. If you can’t make the show, a replay will be made available on iPPV soon.
