Former 5 time NWA Worlds Junior Heavyweight Champion, Angelo Savoldi was recognized last night in Carteret New Jersey, as the guest of honor. Savoldi has been recognized for a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Cauliflower Alley Club in 2003 and was inducted into the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2004. Savoldi was instrumental in pro-wrestling in the North East for many years creating ICW and ICCW.

Last night’s Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame Banquet was superb. While the quality is less-than-excellent, above is a photo of Guest of Honor, Angelo Savoldi. Angelo is 97 years old, not 95. Other noteworthy attendees were Bob Backlund, J.J. Dillon, Tito Santana, Domenic DeNucci, The Original Doink the Clown, Davey O’Hannon, Pretty Boy Larry Sharpe, Doc Diamond and fellow Referee Dick Woehrle. Many up-and-coming wrestlers attended – some of whom you will see in NWA rings around the world. I conveyed the official greetings of NWA Executive Directors along with my business partners Phil Varlese and Ironman Tommy Cairo.
