AEW Stars Returns to the United Wrestling Network | UWN NEWS

Memphis Wrestling kicks off its first television taping of 2022 Saturday, January 9th. Already announced is a huge match-up featuring stars from All Elite Wrestling. In a bit of a homecoming, Brian Cage and Joey Janela make their return to the United Wrestling Network. Both Cage and Janela have spent time in UWN Rings.
Memphis Wrestling established ties to AEW since its creation. The first live event promoted by Memphis was the “Drive-Thru Spooktacular.” That show featured Marko Stunt and Peter Avalon, both of AEW Fame. As Memphis began promoting regularly in 2021, they continued to reach out to AEW Talents.
Before they were Elite, they were United
Brian Cage spent an early part of his career teaming with LA Knight, at CWF Hollywood. Under the tutelage of legendary manager Percy Pringle, Cage and Knight would find success. The pair won the Hollywood Tag Team titles on two different occasions. After there falling out, Cage would appear as a singles competitor. Later Cage would return to compete against the likes of Tim Thatcher and Willie Mack.
The Bad Boy of Wrestling didn’t spend the length of time with the United Wrestling Network as did Cage. Janela did once challenge for the CZW Wired Championship at a CWFH TV Taping. And later would face Peter Avalon at a United Wrestling Network live event.
Despite Janela and Cage having shared a ring at Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, The Crash, and AEW, this will be only the second time they face each other one-on-one.
Cage versus Janela will headline Sunday’s TV Taping. The action starts at 2 pm at the Wrestle Center, in Memphis Tennessee. Tickets start at just $10 and are available online. The next taping on Sunday, January 30th will feature former ECW World Champion Rhino. And in February, Ring of Honor World Champion Jon Gresham will come to Memphis. Lastly Memphis was recently recognized by The Sportster as one of the best eight wrestling shows that are currently on YouTube. Memphis was ranked 4th.
