Ever since the 2019 Crockett Cup, the Briscoes have had a vendetta against the National Wrestling Alliance. Taking advantage of the National Treasure at ROH’s Best in the World. The former two-time Ring of Honor Heavyweight Champion and multi-time tag team champion Jay Briscoe has answered the callout from Worlds Heavyweight Champion, Nick Aldis.

Briscoe is highly touted as half of one of the greatest modern-day tag teams in wrestling today. The duo has held the ROH Tag Team Titles 10 times. They’ve held the IWGP Tag Team Titles, the GHC Jr. Tag Titles, CZW Tag Team, PWU, FIP, and more.

His first run as ROH Heavyweight Champion saw him defeat Kevin Owens to win the championship. He had successful defenses against the likes of Adam Cole, Matt Hardy, Davey Richards, Eddie Edwards. His second reign would see him defeat the likes of Tommaso Ciampa, Michael Kannelis, Samoa Joe, Ivar, Kyle O’Riley, Bobby Fish, before losing the title to Jay Lethal.

Although no official title defense has been set up, Briscoe joins an ever-increasing list of names of would-be opponents for Nick Aldis and his Ten Pounds of Gold. Nick Aldis is scheduled to defend against the Monster Crater on July 27th and debut for Championship Wrestling from Arizona on September 14th.
