Strickland unsuccessful in his NWA Worlds Championship Challenge

Just over 450 in attendance in Ironton Ohio, to witness NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion to successfully defend his ten pounds of gold against Shane Strickland at FTC Wrestling’s Love and War on Saturday Night February 23rd. This would mark the first time that Nick Aldis would defend his championship in Ohio.
Since capturing the Worlds Heavyweight Championship a second time, Aldis has defended in markets that haven’t seen the Worlds Heavyweight Championship in years. Most recently in Toronto, Ontario, and Puerto Rico. The last NWA Worlds Champion to defend in Ohio was the “Ironman” Rob Conway in 2013. The King of Swerve is an unrestricted free agent. Strickland’s deal with Lucha Underground has recently come to conclusion. He was rumored to have inked a deal with the WWE back in January, but it seems that rumor was unsubstantiated. Strikland is scheduled to defend his PCW Ultra title on March 31st.
Also on the show, Eric Darkstorm successfully defended the AIWF Heavyweight Championship against Caleb Konley. The BWO defeated the Gym Nasty Boyz. Megan Bayne successfully defended her FTC women’s championship against Impact star Madison Rayne.
