#10 Ranked Kevin Northcutt set sights on moving up!
The 9-time NWA Texas champion Kevin Northcutt still recovering from an injury that cost him his belt due to missing a mandatory title defense on February 26, says he will regain the belt he never lost to anyone for a 10th time soon. But, now he aspires for greater Gold than just Texas since he’s been ranked #10 in NWA by PWI for past 16 weeks.
“I have not moved up a notch since making the list so it’s pretty obvious I have to hook up with those above me, and beat them, to move up,” said Northcutt. “The one with the biggest belt above me in the rankings is The Sheik. He has a belt I have yet to win so I am setting my sights on him this year. I am going on record that I am challenging The Sheik for his belt!”
Northcutt is no stranger to NWA Gold since 1999. In addition to being Texas champion nine times, he was been NWA World Tag Team champion twice, NWA National champion twice, and a NWA North American Tag Team champion.
“I am close to full recovery of the muscle tear,” said Northcutt. “I should be back to 100% by Whitesboro for Red River Stampede on May 1.”
