The Hollywood Heritage Championship has a rich history spanning the last twelve years. The title was the center piece of the Championship Wrestling from Hollywood (then known as NWA Pro) Arena tours in 2006. Matches took place in Texas, Nevada, Arizona, Former champions include “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce, Sean Waltman, TJ Perkins, Eli Drake, Scorpio Sky, Ryan Taylor, and most recently Willie Mack.
September 6th, Willie Mack defended his Hollywood Heritage Championship (along with the House of Hardcore Twitch TV Title) at the Dragon Gate “Storm Gate 2018” event that was televised in Korakuen Hall, Tokyo Japan. By defeating Shun Skywalker, Willie Mack becomes the first Champion to defend the title across the Pacific. Willie Mack is the 14th Hollywood Heritage Champion.
Mack recently rejoined the Championship Wrestling from Hollywood roster of nearly a two year layoff. His last match was against Scorpio Sky at CWFH Milestone 2016. During that time Mack started to work for Lucha Underground, The Crash, and House of Hardcore. Until recently he was 1/3 of the Lucha Underground Trios Champions with Killshot and Son of Havoc. Since returning to Hollywood, defeated Andy Brown and won the championship by defeating Bad Dude Tito. Mack spent much of July on tour with House of Hardcore in Australia and has been in Japan with Dragon Gate since August 4th.
Mack isn’t the first champion to take the title to Japan. Former Inoki Genome Federation star Atsushi Sawada. However the title laid dormant in Japan for nearly three years before CWFH revived the title.
Championship Wrestling From Hollywood’s Heritage Championship has an interesting legacy. The championship was first crowned on October 21st 2006 when “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce defeated the Plague in the City of Industry
