Where did Kratos Start?

Known through out the indies as the “God of War” JR Kratos, he has made a name for himself here in the United States and across the Pacific. Kratos broke into the business with Sacramento based SPW. Superme Pro Wrestling Academy (the same school that trained Timothy Thatcher and Christina Von Eerie), provided the foundation for his start. Kratos would make his way in the Northern California scene working for promotions like All Pro Wrestling (where he’s a former is a two time APW Universal Champion), Pro Wrestling Revolution, and started to migrate to Southern California appearing in promotions like Alternative Wrestling Show. Kratos has also spent time training with Josh Barnett and has been part of his Bloodsport Fights; first defeating Simon Gotch, but lost in his second appearance to Erik Hammer.

In the past, Kratos has had tryouts with the WWE. He was part of Jeff Jarrett’s Global Force Wrestling where he faced off against Shelton Benjamin in the in the quarter-finals of the Global Force Championship. That tournament would eventually crown Nick Aldis as it’s first champion.

Kratos in Japan

He spent the entire month of February in All Japan Pro Wrestling. He was on the AJPW Excite Series 2020 Tour, appearing on their TV Show and Live Events. Kratos didn’t return to All Japan, due to Covid-19 travel restrictions. However he recently debuted for New Japan of America. Partnered with Rust Taylor (currently competed in Ring of Honor’s Pure Wrestling Tournament), they defeated Jeff Cobb and Rocky Romero on Episode 14 of NJPW Strong. Kratos will take on Cobb on the November 20th episode.

Kratos and the NWA

JR Kratos had not appeared on NWA programming. He did not appear on NWA POWERRR or any of the PPVs. Under the previous ownership JR Kratos partnered with Idris Jackson appeared on the Vendetta Pro Wrestling (previously affiliated with the NWA) at the Annual Cauliflower Alley Club show on April 12th 2015. Kratos started to make appearances for Championship Wrestling from Hollywood in early 2016. Kratos would appearing intermittently on the program, typically being held back for the bigger events like Coastline Clash or the Red Carpet Rumble. Kratos gave Tim Storm a hell of a match at CWFH when the then NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion was showcasing in Hollywood, on September 21st 2017, in the first of two non-title matches for Storm after the announcement of the NWA being purchased by Billy Corgan. You can even see Kratos in clips on episode 3 of Ten Pounds of Gold .

Kratos made his return to the United Wrestling Network in a match against Mike Bennett on episode six of #PrimeTimeLIVE. Kratos took the loss in that match, but definitely made a statement as he brutalized Bennett, just a head of the United Wrestling Network World Title Tournament. It is no surprise that the NWA would be interested in Kratos. He joins an ever changing landscape of champions for the NWA.
