New NWA World Tag Team Champions: Iron Empire

Former NWA Western States Champion the “Loverboy” Matt Riviera teamed with former NWA World Champion and NWA World Tag Champion “Ironman” Rob Conway defeated the Heatseekers Elliot Russel and Sigmon on Friday December 4th 2015.

Iron Empire Tag Champs

With blood oozing from his forehead, Matt Riviera successfully beat back a very hungry Sigmon to retain his then NWA Western States Championship. The “Loverboy” has had been in pursuit of the NWA Tag Team titles ever since the Empire was snubbed from the NWA World Tag Team Triple Threat at NWA Mid-South at Glory Last Forever in Dyserburg, Tennessee. The rivalry seemingly still intact after Elliot Russel and Sigmon (The Heatseekers) would become the NWA World Tag Team Champions by defeating Smoky Mountain’s Illuminati (Chase Owens and Chris Richards) and New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Killer Elite Squad (Lance Hoyt and Davey Boy Smith Jr.) to capture the NWA World Tag Team Titles. Riviera brought his regular tag team partner Greg Anthony to NWA Mid-South to challenge the Heatseekers for their NWA World Tag Titles. The Heatseekers drove back a frustrated Riviera and remained champions. That is until this past weekend at the Resorts Casino in Rovinsonville Mississippi. While being managed by James E. Cornette, Riviera and Conway defeated the likes of Elliot Russel and Sigmon to win the titles.

No matches have yet to be announced for the Iron Empire, but look to be a big part of 2016.
