“King Lynn’s Greatest Son” Nick Aldis broke another record last night. He became the first NWA Worlds Champion to defend in the state of New Hampshire. Aldis forced “The Master of Mayhem” Tommy Mack to tap out to his King Lynn’s Clover Leaf on the last day of March at the Injustice for Brawl 2 event in Concord New Hampshire.
Aldis regained the Worlds Heavyweight Championship when he defeated Cody at the NWA 70th Anniversary on October 21st, 2018. Alliance Message Board User Spacemountain recently noted that “Aldis has held the title longer than; Dusty Rhodes, Sting, Ricky Steamboat, Whipper Watson, Masa Chono, Barry Windham, the Great Muta, AJ Styles, Christian, and Dick Hutton… in combined reigns and is coming up to Terry Funk’s 424 days.” Aldis is already the most successful English born champion to hold the title as well as being the first champion to defend in China.
“I got to meet him there and he is truly a gentleman!” said Alliance-Wrestling.com reader Jim Soucy. Also on the event, James Storm was a surprise opponent for Afa Jr. who he defeated in a table match and Canadian Markus Burke fell to former DX Member and future WWE Hall of Famer, Billy Gunn in a Flag Match.
Aldi’s next scheduled defense will be against “the Villain” Marty Scurll at the Crockett Cup 2019 in Concord North Carolina.
