Aldis Retains Title In Omaha

NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis retains in Omaha, Nebraska. The Real Worlds Champion faced Jaysin Strife at the Magnum Pro Wrestling 10th Anniversary. Strife taped out to Aldis’ King Lynn’s Clover Leaf. This was the first time the Ten Pounds of Gold had been defended in Nebraska since 1991.

NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis

Aldis won the Ten Pounds of Gold for a second time, by defeating Cody at the 70th Anniversary Show. Since October 21st, 2018, The National Treasure has now successfully defended his title 27 times over the last 819 days. Aldis most recently defended his championship against; Brian Pillman Jr. on December 10th, Mike Bennett on September 15th, and Nobe Bryant on August 30th, 2020.

Jaysin Strife

Jaysin Strife gave up eight inches and seventy-five pounds to Aldis. Strife has wrestled almost exclusively for Magnum Pro Wrestling since September. He has victories over Tony Cortez, Damien Saint, James Moore, JJ Garrett, J Fowler, and Nino Hatcher. Strife is a former NWA Midwest X-Division Champion and has competed for various wrestling promotions associated with the NWA.

Magnum Pro Wrestling

Magnum Pro Wrestling is celebrating it’s ten year anniversary. For the past six years, they have held events in Nebraska but had previously held events in Iowa and California. Tonight marks the second time The NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship has been defended in a Magnum Pro Wrestling ring. The last time was in 2012, in Council Bluffs, Iowa when Scrap Iron Adam Pearce defended the title against Tony Cortez on January 20th, 2012.
